RF Fail: Radio Fail Alarm
Pulse Companion Battery Low / Battery End;
Fault 28: Armband Battery Low
As the Pulse Companion is a “
Safelink
” enabled device, the pager is expecting to see its regular heartbeat signal
every 8 seconds.
If the pager does not see any heartbeat signal for 2 minutes it will raise a Radio Failure alarm “
RF Fail
”.
This condition could occur if;

The Pulse Companion is too far away from the pager (Range = ~450 meters)

The Pulse Companion is turned off/Batteries flat.

There is a hardware fault with either the Pulse Companion’s transmitter or the Pagers receiver.
When the battery in the Pulse Companion gets ‘low’, the pager will display “
Batt Low
”.
When the battery in the Pulse Companion gets ‘very low’, the pager will display
“
Batt END
”. The batteries should be changed immediately.
When the armband battery gets low the pager will display “
Fault 28
