Installing the Digital Multifunction Control (P/N 611242-FC)
The Digital Multifunction Controller is an advanced wall control that offers the user many
different ways of operating the HRV/ERV, including an Automatic mode that uses a high-
accuracy, fast response humidity sensor to remove excess humidity from the home.
The Digital Multifunction Control (P/N 611242-FC) can be
used with any type of Aldes Residential HRV/ERV. The controller
should be installed in the place where excess humidity is most
likely to be detected, for example near a bathroom, kitchen
or in the basement. Ensure good air circulation around the
controller. Do not place it behind a door, for example.
Please refer to the controller’s documentation for detailed mounting and operating
instructions. Note that the Automatic dehumidistat mode is intended to be used when the
outdoor air has less moisture content than the indoor air. Turn off the Automatic mode when
outdoor air is hot and humid.
Free Cooling (E80-HRG and E80-HRX only)

his setting is to take advantage of the automatic Free Cooling mode available on certain
Aldes air exchangers. If the indoor temperature exceeds 22°C (72°F) and the outdoor
temperature is between 13°C and 19°C (55°F and 66°F), Free Cooling brings in the fresh air
directly, without exchanging heat from the indoor air. This lowers the temperature of the
indoor air more quickly, reducing the need for air conditioning.
1. To activate or deactivate the Free Cooling mode of the HRV, press the UP and DOWN
arrow keys together for 2 seconds.
2. The alphanumeric characters indicate the transition to the active state «On » or inactive
state « Off» of the Free Cooling mode on the HRV. When the Free Cooling mode is activated,
the symbol appears; NOTE: Even if the Free Cooling symbol appears on the screen,
it takes specific indoor and outdoor temperature conditions (described above) for the
ventilator to actually operate in the Free Cooling mode.
