EDH
Error Detection and Handling. A system for detection of errors in SD-SDI signal
transmission. It consists of the insertion of a CRC (Cyclic Redundancy Check) packet at
the end of each video field to check the data in that field. The receiving equipment
calculates the CRC for the data received and compares it with the CRC received in the
packet to determine if errors are present in the transmission.
SD-SDI
Standard Definition - Serial Digital Interface. A serial digital interface capable of
transmitting standard definition television signals with bitrates of 143Mbit/s,
177Mbit/s, 270Mbit/s or 360Mbit/s.
SDI
Serial Digital Interface. A standard used for the transmission of uncompressed video
signals that can also include audio and time code signals.
