Possible Diagnosis
Possible Solution
The washer
does not work.
• Power not activated.
• Household power failure.
• Check that the machine is prop-
erly plugged in and turned on.
• Check whether a power failure
has occurred. Test by plugging in
another electrical appliance.
The washer
is filling
continuously.
• The drain hose is installed
incorrectly.
• The washer could be
siphoning.
• Ensure the drain hose is properly
installed.
• Ensure the standpipe is between
860mm and 1200mm high.
• To prevent siphoning, ensure the
drain hose does not extend more
than 20mm from the end of the
hose guide.
The spin speed
sounds slower
than normal.
• Clothes are unevenly
distributed in the tub.
• The outer wash bowl may still
be hot from being filled with
hot water.
• The washer has compensated by
lowering the spin speed.
• The washer has slowed the spin
speed as a protective measure.
The washer
is continually
going out of
balance.
• The washer may not be level.
• Too much water for the load.
• Check the washer is level (see
page 12).
• Ensure an appropriate water level
is selected for the load size.
The washer
is making a
banging noise.
• The load is out of balance.
• Press Start/Pause and
redistribute the load.
A small puddle
of water is
coming from
under the
washer.
• The water level is too high for
the amount of clothes and has
caused excessive splashing.
• Large, bulky items (e.g.,
towels, sheets) can cause
splashing.
• Select a lower water level (see
page 14).
• Select the appropriate program
for the load (see page 16).
Linting
• Some items in the load are
more likely to release or pick
up lint.
• The washer is overloaded.
• There is not enough detergent
to hold the lint in suspension.
• Wash ‘lint givers’ (e.g. towels)
separately from ‘lint collectors’
(e.g. synthetics).
• Try reducing the load size.
• Try using more detergent.
