Pilot Target Group
LTF and EN Certification
The AIRDESIGN VOLT2 is certified during official testing as LTF and EN -C.
The glider has been type-tested for
“one-seated”
use only.
VOLT2 is ideal for pilots who have experience with an intermediate glider and are looking for a
wing with more performance and agility.
VOLT2 is aimed at pilots who want to fly long cross-country flights on a wing with good
performance, whilst also with the security and passive safety to deal with those unexpected
moments when conditions change during a flight.
It is also an ideal glider for those pilots stepping back from higher rated wings who want
performance with greater passive safety. VOLT2 is not recommended for beginner or novice
pilots.
We recommend the pilot to fly ‘actively’. VOLT2 reacts predictably even in unpredictable
conditions, allowing the pilot to assess and fly proactively to minimize the risk of deflations.
To learn how to predict and react to unusual situations in flight, we recommend doing an SIV
course.
Suitability for Training
The AirDesign VOLT2 is not suitable for the use in school environment.
Excerpt from the EN
Pilot Aptitude
Each pilot should be able to act on his/her own responsibility.
Pilots are responsible for their own decisions, they must be able to judge if they are
able to cope successfully with the particular flying conditions during a flight.
Even with the best and safest equipment, a wrong decision can lead to serious injury.
It is the pilot’s obligation to avoid such misjudgements by progressing through
structured theoretical and practical training.
It is the pilots’ obligation to use suitable protective gear and to maintain the
airworthiness of their equipment.
By following these basic principles we wish all pilots a successful, safe and enjoyable flying
career.
