- upper body (1) with atomizer (2)

A patient interface device, which, depending on the model, can be:
- mouthpiece (7)
- adult mask (8)
- paediatric mask (9)
The lower body (3) is equipped with a terminal to which the air supply hose is

2 - PREPARATION AND USE
Alvea requires connection to an air source which can be the compressed air
produced by an aerosol feeding device, medicinal air derived from a centralized
system. In all cases it is necessary to ensure consistency of the performance of
the air source with the operating data of the ampoule (see section 6 - TECHNICAL
DATA).
Read chapter 3 before use.
To use Alvea you must perform the following actions in the order indicated:
- verify that the atomizer (2) is correctly inserted into the upper body of the ampoule (1)
- the lower body of the ampoule (3) is equipped with a graduated scale indicating
the amount of liquid inserted: this has only the purpose of giving an approximate
indication of the content. For precise dosage use a graduated syringe. Pour the
liquid into the tray (Fig. B) according to the amount recommended by your doctor
- hook the upper body of the ampoule (1) onto the lower body (3) by rotating it until
you hear a click. (Fig.C-1)
- Check the correct positioning of the valves (5) and (6) in the lid (4)
- hook the lid (4) to the upper body of the ampoule (1) (Fig.C-2)
- Attach the mask (8) (9) or the mouthpiece (7) to the upper body of the ampoule
(1) (Fig. C-3)
- Connect the lower terminal of the ampoule to the tube and connect the other end
of the tube to the air intake of the aerosol
- put the device into operation
- during treatment the ampoule should be held in a vertical position in order to
ensure its proper functioning
- If the operations described above have been carried out correctly, the nebulized
liquid will come out from the mask/mouthpiece.
