– BSP upgrade procedure
3 BSP UPGRADE PROCEDURE
This section contains the procedures used to upgrade the BSP for the 1553 module on a
system which has a previous version of the 1553 Windows BSP installed. This procedure
describes the steps which must be taken to upgrade both the host PC driver software and the
onboard target driver software.
The BSP is available on CD from AIM or via a download from
AIM-Online . Appendix A
contains instructions for performing the download.
To properly update the 1553 Windows BSP:
a. Install the new BSP as described in Section 3.1.
b. Remove the old Driver and BSP by following the procedures described in
Section 3.3.
c. Install the new AIM device driver as described in Section 2.2.2.
d. Update the onboard flash firmware as described in Section 3.2.
3.1 Install the New BSP
Once the old BSP and drivers have been removed, the upgrade may continue with the
installation of the new BSP. The new BSP may be obtained via a download from
www.aim-
online.com , or from an AIM provided CD.

To install the new BSP from the AIM provided CD or a download from AIM-
Online (See Section 2.1)
