Identify the COM port number
1. On the PC keyboard simultaneously press the Windows key and the R
key.

7.5.2 How to establish an Ethernet connection
The direct connection via an Ethernet data cable between the data
logger and a PC requires a static IP address in the PC and -- from
the same network address space -- a static IP address in the data
logger. For the wireless ALMEMO
®
data logger the IP address is
preset as a dynamic IP address.
1. In the PC, set a
static IP address.
In doing so, make
sure to set the IP
address for the
Ethernet port that
you want to use
for the connection
to the data logger.
2. In the data logger set an IP address that is located in the same
network address space as the IP address of the PC (see chapter
8.1.11 How to set a static or a dynamic IP address).
3. Connect one plug of the Ethernet data cable to the Ethernet socket

of the data logger and the other plug of the Ethernet data cable to the
Ethernet socket of the PC.
