5.2) Muzzle air inlet Removal/Installation
To remove the muzzle air inlet, first uncover the fabric chin
strap and free the special metal tool from the press stud, as
shown in the figure (1).
Position the tool supplied in the slot on the edge of the muzzle
air inlet (2) and lever it until the air inlet is removed from the
shell.
To refit the muzzle air inlet, position the filter (3) in the hole in
line with the inlet, ensuring that the edges are in line with those
of the hole in the shell.
5.1) Canopy
A canopy is available for the AX-8 to protect it from the sun and/or stones. It can be quickly and
easily fitted.
N.B. Caution! Never force the front to change the angle of inclination because the canopy
is fixed.
To completely remove the canopy from the shell, starting from
one side of the helmet, loosen the screw at the side which holds
the canopy in place (1), either by hand or using a screwdriver.
Repeat the operation on the other side and remove the ca-
nopy.
If you wish to use the AX-8 Dual without the front, it is possible
to cover the side housings where the canopy is fastened in
place with the plastic plates and special screws supplied.
After removing the canopy, the plates can be installed quic-
kly and easily. Starting from one side of the helmet, position
the plastic plates in line with the holes in the shell, insert the
screws into their housings (1) and tighten them by hand or
using a screwdriver. Repeat the operation on the other side.
To remove the plastic plates, starting from one side of the hel-
met, loosen the screws by hand or using a screwdriver (2).
Repeat the operation on the other side and then install the
canopy.
N.B. To refit the canopy, remember to use the original alu-
minium screws.
To re-install the canopy, start from one side of the helmet and
fasten the side screws. Position the canopy in line with the re-
spective holes on the shell. Insert the screws in their housings
and tighten them by hand or using a screwdriver (2).
Repeat the operation on the other side and check that the
canopy is securely fastened to the shell.
