Acquisition Theory
The acquisition board is part of a PC system complete with a computer motherboard, power
supply, and LCD display. It is essentially a device on the PCI bus connected with an 80-pin ribbon
cable through the PCI-bridge board.
Power is delivered to the acquisition board from the Power Board. The power board is common
to all three oscilloscope models and is responsible for regulating the bulk supply to the various
voltages needed by the acquisition board. The power board mates to the acquisition board with
six 51-pin board-to-board connectors.
