About the Instrument
Y1159A Cable Kit Assembly
The Y1159A is a 16-pin to 16-pin ribbon connector cable kit. The Y1159A kit
contains materials to build two cables and is used with the following
distribution boards:
•
Y1150A (LED
position
indicators)
•
Y1151A (87104/87106/87406 and LED position indicators)
•
Y1152A (87204/87206/87606 and LED position indicators)
•
Y1153A (LED
position
indicators)
•
Y1154A (LED
position
indicators)
•
Y1155A (LED position indicators)
When connected to the LED1 or LED2 socket, the Y1159A cable allows you
route the states of up to eight coils to LEDs mounted on a control panel. The
Y1159A kit is also used with the Y1151A and Y1152A distribution boards for
support of the switches listed above.
The key to building the cables correctly is to understand the orientation of the
socket pins on the distribution boards and the pin number orientation of the
cable connectors. This orientation is shown in Figure 1-6.

The steps for building the cables are as follows:
1. Cut the ribbon cable slightly longer than the desired length to allow for
strain relief.
2. Position the ribbon cable connectors as shown in Figure 1-7. Route the cable
through
the connectors, noting the location of pin 1 on the cable. By
convention, pin 1 is indicated in red (the dark line in the drawing).
