3-3 DISC GANG INSTALLATION

THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURES.
IMPORTANT
SEE FIGURE 3-3 FOR PART NAMES.
DANGER
DISC BLADES ARE EXTREMELY
SHARP. EXERCISE EXTREME CARE
WHEN WORKING ON OR NEAR DISC
BLADES. DO NOT ALLOW DISCS TO
ROLL OVER OR FALL ONTO ANY
BODILY PART. DO NOT ALLOW
WRENCHES TO SLIP WHEN WORK-
ING NEAR DISC BLADES. NEVER
PUSH WRENCHES TOWARDS DISC
BLADES. DO NOT CLIMB OVER MA-
CHINE ABOVE DISC BLADES. FAIL-
URE TO STAY CLEAR OF DISC
BLADE EDGES CAN CAUSE SERIOUS
PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH.
WARNING
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO LIFT THE DISC
GANGS MANUALLY. USE A HOIST
OR A FORK LIFT TO MOVE THE DISC
GANGS INTO POSITION.
3-3.1
FRONT DISC GANG INSTALLATION
IMPORTANT
THE FRONT DISC GANGS HAVE A 13 INCH
SPACING.
a.
Install the pivot block on the outer disc gang
frame pivot so the long end is facing the rear.
b.
Hoist the disc gang up until the inner ball
socket hanger goes into the mount on the
main frame and the outer pivot block is be-
hind the frame mounting bracket.
c.
Align the pivot block with the frame mount-
ing bracket and slide the disc gang forward.
d.
Install the hitch pin and 1/4 x 2-1/2 cotter
pins on the inner mounting bracket.
e.
Install a 1-8 x 6 hex head cap screw with
the disc adjust stop bushing and hex lock nut
in the outer disc mounting bracket to retain
the pivot block. Bolt threads up.

REAR DISC GANG INSTALLATION
IMPORTANT
THE REAR DISC GANGS HAVE A 10 INCH
SPACING.
a.
Install the pivot block on the outer disc
gang frame pivot so the long end is facing the
front.
b.
Hoist the disc gang up until the inner ball
socket hanger goes into the mount on the
main frame and the outer pivot block is in
front of the frame mounting bracket.
c.
Align the pivot block with the frame mount-
ing bracket and slide the disc gang rearward.
d.
Install the hitch pin and 1/4 x 2-1/2 cotter
pins on the inner mounting bracket.
e.
Install a 1-8 x 6 hex head cap screw with
the disc adjust stop bushing and hex lock nut
in the outer disc mounting bracket to retain
the pivot block. Bolt threads up.
