3-2 GAUGE WHEEL ASSEMBLY
WARNING
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO LIFT THE
ROCKSHAFT MANUALLY. USE A
HOIST OR A FORK LIFT TO MOVE
ROCKSHAFT INTO POSITION.

TION BEFORE ATTEMPTING ANY OF
THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURES.
IMPORTANT
SEE FIGURE 3-2 FOR PART NAMES.
3-2.1
Install center gauge wheel assembly to
frame using five bearing block pairs and
3/4-10 x 8-1/2 hex head cap screws, hex
lock nuts, flat washers, and shims provided.
Use only enough shims to allow rockshaft to
turn freely.

Assemble leveling rod to center gauge
wheel with 1-1/4-7 x 9-1/2 hex head cap
screw, flat washer, leveling rod pivot bush-
ing, split lock washer, and hex nut.

Install outer frame gauge wheel assem-
bly using four bearing block pairs and 3/4-10
x 8-1/2 hex head cap screws, hex lock nuts,
flat washers, and shims provided. Use only
enough shims to allow rockshaft to turn
freely.

Install wing gauge wheel assembly us-
ing four bearing block pairs and 3/4-10 x
8-1/2 hex head cap screws, hex lock nuts,
flat washers, and shims provided. Use only
enough shims to allow rockshaft to turn
freely.

Install hub and spindle assemblies into
walking beams and secure with 1/2-13 x
4-1/2 hex head cap screws and hex lock
nuts provided with spindle.
3-2.6
Install tires and wheels on the hubs
(12.5L X 15 20 ply tires required).
IMPORTANT
INFLATE TIRE PRESSURE TO 80 P.S.I. PER
TIRE PER MANUFACTURER’S RECOMMENDA-
TION.
3-2.7
Install the 6-1/4 X 12 lift cylinder (mas-
ter) on the frame gauge wheels. Attach the
base end of the cylinder to the frame and the
rod end to the gauge wheel arm with the
ports up .
3-2.8
Install the 5-1/2 X 12 lift cylinder (slave)
on the outer frame gauge wheel. Attach the
base end of the cylinder to the frame and the
rod end to the gauge wheel arm with the
ports up.

Install the 5 X 12 lift cylinder (slave) on
the wing gauge wheel. Attach the base end
of the cylinder to the frame and the rod end
to the gauge wheel arm with the ports up.
3-2.10
For front gauge wheel assembly, install
upper and lower anchor weldments to frame
using four 5/8-11 x 10-1/2 hex head cap
screws and hex lock nuts. Attach jack ratchet
to upper anchor weldment and front gauge
wheel arm. Attach front gauge wheel to
lower anchor weldment using pivot pin,
1/2-13 x 2 hex head cap screw, and hex lock
nut. Install hub and spindle assemblies into
front gauge wheel arm using 3/8-16 x 3 hex
head cap screw and hex lock nut. See

correct location.
