5 Installation, assembly and setting
The EPS systems are incomplete machines. For safe operation, the system
must be integrated into the safety concept of the system in which it is installed.
During normal operation, the user must not interfere with the working area of
the EPS system. The user of the EPS system (plant operator) must ensure this
by using suitable protective measures (e.g. protective bonnets, safety doors,
enclosures, light grids).
The system operator is responsible for the installation of the EPS in a system!
No liability for damages can be assumed for damages caused by improper
installation on the part of the operator.
5.1 Safety instructions for installation and assembly
Also observe the safety instructions in
chapter 2 „Safety instructions“ in this
manual.
CAUTION
Personal injury caused by hot surfaces!
High surface temperatures (up to 60°C) can occur on the EPS systems. There
is a risk of injury and damage to property.
No temperature-sensitive parts such as cables or electronic components
may be in contact with or attached to the EPS system!
Before touching hot surfaces without protective gloves, make sure they
have cooled down to ambient temperature.
CAUTION
Risk of injuries due to uncontrolled parts movements!
When connecting to the control system and during operation of the EPS
systems, unpredictable movements may occur and cause injury/property
damage.
Before working on the EPS system, make sure that the control unit is
switched off and secured against being switched on again.
