Using a microphone with PTT switch
The optional microphone with PTT switch (part number 44991/145) allows you to 'talk through'
the Service Monitor onto the system. Pressing the PTT switch makes a call, releasing the PTT
clears it. The microphone is plugged into the ACCESSORY socket on the front of the Service
Monitor.
Data displays

Access to this facility is protected by password control. Ericsson GE have imposed this restriction,
due to the potentially confidential nature of the information which can be decoded. The
[DATA]
key is not displayed until the facility is unlocked.
To enable the data display mode, press the
[DATA]
key at the left-hand side of the screen.
The data display mode allows you to view the data messages which are sent between the Service
Monitor and the repeater. You can rapidly identify incorrect bits sent by the repeater, which may
have caused a test to fail. The data displays can also serve as an educational or reference facility
for users who are unfamiliar with trunking signaling.
Forward/reverse data
This screen has four active soft keys assigned to it on the right of the display. see Fig. 2-12.
The

[
M
]
and
[
N
]
keys select the word to be displayed in the expanded data window at the top
of the screen.
The
[clear]
key removes the current information from the display.
IT CANNOT BE
RETRIEVED.
The
[print]
key causes the expanded data window to be printed if the printer is active.
