Irregularity
Possible reasons
The unit doesn't start when the ON/
OFF button is pressed
The unit is fitted with a 3-minute protection system that prevents it from
becoming overloaded. The unit cannot be restarted within 3 minutes of
switch-off.
The unit switches autonomously from
cooling or heating mode to FAN mode
(ventilation only)
The unit can modify the working set-point to avoid the formation of frost on
the outdoor unit. Once the temperature has increased, the unit will return to
the operating mode previously set.
The set temperature has been reached. The unit will automatically switch
off the compressor (which will start working again when the temperature
changes).
White mist comes out of the unit
In humid areas, the temperature difference between the ambient air and
the air emitted by the air conditioner may produce “white mist”.
White mist comes out of both the
indoor unit and the outdoor unit
When the unit restarts in heating mode after defrosting, white mist might
come out of both units owing to the humidity generated by the defrosting
process.
The indoor unit makes noises
When the compressed air intake resumes its position, there might be a
violent air sound.
Creaking might be heard when the unit has been working in heating mode,
owing to the expansion and subsequent contraction of its plastic parts.
The outdoor unit makes noises
The outdoor unit makes different noises depending on the current
operating mode.
Both the indoor unit and the outdoor
unit make noises
If the sound is similar to a low hiss during operation, this is normal. It is
caused by the refrigerant gas flowing in the two units.
If the sound is a low hiss heard when the unit has just stopped operating,
or during the defrosting phase, this is also normal. It is caused by the
refrigerant gas stopping its flow or suddenly changing direction.
If there is a creaking sound, it is caused by the normal expansion and
contraction of the plastic and metal parts that make up the units.
Temperature variations during operation can produce creaking sounds.
Dust comes out of the indoor or
outdoor unit
Dust may build up inside the unit if it is left unused for a long time. This dust
will be emitted when the unit is switched on again. It's a good idea to cover
the unit when it's not being used, and clean it before switching it on.
The unit gives off a bad smell
The unit might have absorbed odours from the place where it is installed
(kitchen smells, cigarette smoke, etc.). These odours are absorbed by the
unit filter and then emitted during operation.
The air filter needs replacing.
The outdoor unit fan doesn't work
While the unit is working, the fan speed is controlled to optimise operation.
