48 V phantom power at microphone input
Microphones that require 48 V phantom
power (P 48) can be connected directly to mic
in by an XLR plug.
When connected by a jack plug, the 48 V
phantom power is not applied. Use the jack
connection for microphones that must not be
connected to phantom power.
Please also read the general notes on phantom
power.

Active Monitor may be equipped with a
9 V phantom power. It powers instrument preamps
that are prepared accordingly. Such preamps are
connected to line in by a stereo jack cable. The
phantom power activates automatically, and the
yellow indicator lamp lights up.
Sources that don’t need phantom power should
always be connected by a mono jack cable. Thereby
the phantom power is kept away from the source
and cannot damage it. You should also make sure
that the plug is always fully plugged in.
At the XLR line input the 9 V phantom power is not
present.
General Note:
Use of phantom power
(Phantom power = remote supply, here: powering
an audio device via the connected audio line)
Only suitable devices should be connected to an
input with phantom power.
Such devices are also labelled accordingly; please
heed the permissible power consumption (see
technical data).
Some microphones with a balanced signal need no
phantom power, but can handle it anyway.
Other devices, which have not been designed
explicitly for phantom power operation, can suffer
from considerable malfunctions and damage may
result as well.
In case of uncertainty please consult the
manufacturer of your device.
We wish you lots of fun playing your
