Standby / On:
Now you can switch the device between
Standby and On. Press the POWER button in order to
do so. The time and the date appear on the display in
standby.
• To switch off the device, set the ON OFF switch to OFF.
NOTE: Without inserted power reserve
The storage of the time / date will get lost as soon as the
device has been shut off with the ON OFF switch, or if the
power supply is interrupted.
MODE
button
For switching between DAB, FM and AUX mode.
VOL + /VOL – buttons
Adjust to your preferred volume level. The higher the vol-
ume, the more blocks are filled in.
Delayed shut-off (SLEEP)
The device automatically switches off when the selected time
is reached.
1. Press the SELECT / SNOOZE / SLEEP button. “Sleep
Timer OFF” appears on the display.
2. Press the
/ TUNE
+
button repeatedly to select the
time after which the unit is turned off. Select from: 15, 30,
45, 60 and 90 minutes.
3. Confirm your selection with the SELECT / SNOOZE / SLEEP
button
• The OFF setting deactivates this function.
NOTE:
When the function is activated, an “
S
” and the remaining
time until power off appear at the top right of the display.
Setting the display illumination
You can set the intensity of the display illumination for opera-
tion as well as for standby.
1. Turn the device off with the POWER button.
2. Keep the PRESET button pressed. “ACTIVE BACKLIGHT”
appears in the display.
3. Now set the desired brightness for operation.
NOTE:
After approx. 30 seconds, the display is automatically
dimmed to the lowest setting. Press any button to
increase the display illumination again to the set
brightness.
4. Confirm your setting with the SELECT / SNOOZE / SLEEP
button. “STANDBY BACKLIGHT” appears in the display.
5. Now set the desired brightness for standby.
6. Confirm your setting with the SELECT / SNOOZE / SLEEP
button.
AUX-IN jack
For connecting to external players, e.g. MP3 player, smart-
phone, tablet PC etc.
1. Connect the external device to the AUX-IN jack with a
3.5 mm stereo jack.
2. Press the MODE repeatedly until “Switching to AUX” is
shown on the display.
3. You can listen to the audio playback from an external
device through the speaker. Adjust the volume on the
external device. The VOL
+
/ VOL
–
buttons on the device
are not functional.
4. For further information, please refer to the manual for the
external audio source.
NOTE:
Adjust the volume of the external device to an audible
level.
Resetting the unit to the factory settings
Important! Any settings made by you will be lost.
1. Turn the device on.
2. Keep the MENU button pressed. The display shows “Full
Scan” in DAB operation and the “Software version” in
FM or AUX operation.
3. Press the MENU button repeatedly until “System reset”
appears.
4. Press the SELECT / SNOOZE / SLEEP button. The safety
prompt “Press Enter Key to Reset” appears in the display.
5. Confirm with the SELECT / SNOOZE / SLEEP button. The
unit starts with the factory settings (refer to the section
“
First use
”)
Listening to the radio
Setting the FM sensitivity
1. Keep the SELECT / SNOOZE / SLEEP button pressed.
“FM SENSITIVITY” appears in the display.
2. Now select a value between 10 and 1
10 = All stations are detected, even when they display
interference (noise).
1 = Only strong stations are detected. The search
passes over stations with interference.
3. Confirm your setting with the SELECT / SNOOZE / SLEEP
button.
Scan FM stations
1. Repeatedly press MODE button until the display shows
“Switching to FM”.
2. You have two options for tuning a station:

/ TUNE
–
buttons.

Press the
/ TUNE
+
/
/ TUNE
–
buttons for a short
time. The unit searches to the next or the previous
station respectively.
