The serial interface (P1) is typically used to control and monitor the system from a PC station,
via an RS-422/485 serial communication port. The serial interface is located on redundant frame
assembly. The connector type is MS3114E10-6P (6 pins, male) with pin assignment shown in
TABLE 7
at page 26. Note that an RS-422/RS-232 adapter has to be used for communication
with an IBM
®
compatible PC running under DOS (see
TABLE 9
at page 33 for wiring
instructions). A communications program is provided with the amplifier that will allow full access
to all its functions.
CAUTION
: Direct connection or direct communication from P1 of system to RS-232
port of a PC will cause permanent damage to the controller of the amplifier.
