Thank you for choosing a
TekVend M7500 / M7506 Controller
for your image vending needs. This controller
is designed to vend copies and impressions on most copiers and printers, using money or cards.
Two models are covered in this manual:
* M7500: Multi-Coin, Multi-Bill, Multi-Vend Single Price Changer. Accepts nickels, dimes, quarters,
dollar coins, and $1, 2, 5, 10, and 20 bills. Also accepts magnetic stripe debit cards. Pays out change
in nickels, dimes and quarters. Five payout tubes. Can be configured to initialize and/or add value to
cards.
* M7506: Same as the M7500, but supports up to 6 prices, rather than a single price. Can be used
only on certain models of copiers and printers.
All
TekVend Controllers
employ
SmartCoin
TM
technology, which means that they accept or reject individual
coins and bills according to how much change is available and needed for payout, as well as how much money
you can put into the controller without exceeding the
maximum credit allowed
(for either cash vending or card
vending).
TekVend Coin Controllers
have a number of advanced features, including:
* a “single board, single chip” design for maximum reliability,
* a two-line backlit LCD display (intensity adjustable),
* a “multidrop bus (MDB)” changer utilizing electronic coin discrimination,
* an MDB bill validator,
* an MDB card reader, and
* a bypass keyswitch for free copies.
The two-line backlit LCD display shows (at different times) instructions for use, the amount of money (credit)
left towards making copies, the number of copies made so far (copy counter), and programming / readouts
information. The copy counter can be reset to zero at any time by the customer pressing the red button on the
top of the controller (see figure 2). This counter allows the customer to keep track of
copies made per original
,
or
total copies made
.
In readouts, various additional counters can be read off the display by an authorized person called a key
operator. These counters track the usage of your
TekVend Controller
by vended copies (by copy type),
bypass (or free) copies, and deposits (net money inserted), both for the current usage period, and for the
lifetime of the product. Only current usage counters can be reset to zero.
In programming, the key operator has the ability to set all of your controller’s operational parameters. The key
operator also has the ability in programming or readouts to
inventory
(or dump) a portion (or all) of the coins in
any (or all) of the changer’s payout tubes.
Pressing the coin return plunger (see figure 2) allows the customer to 1) retrieve bent coins, 2) retrieve any
change due (when vending with money), or 3) eject an inserted card (when vending with cards). A large coin
return cup ensures that any large payout of coins will not spill out onto the floor.
