The telnet window closes. The GNE box in the Nav Pane should reflect a Connected
status in the Nav Pane, as shown in
GNE Configuration: Serial Port Connection
To add and configure a new GNE, and access the GNE via a Serial Port connection from a
local PC, complete the following steps:
1.
Right-click the OPTI-APPS logo in the Nav Pane, and select
Add Gateway NE
.
A new GNE box appears in the Nav Pane.
2.
Enter configuration data in the Config Pane (refer to
on page 11 as needed):
• GNE Name: this can be a generic label
• GNE Type: select the appropriate type (the default is
ADTRAN
)
• Connection Type: select the serial port used on the PC (e.g.,
COM1
)
• Baud Rate: select the Craft port speed
NOTE
The default baud rate of the OPTI-6100 Craft port is 9600. For baud rates
of other GNE Types, refer to the appropriate vendor’s documentation.
If the physical connection of the PC serial port to GNE Craft port has
not already been made, make that connection before continuing.
3.
Click
Connect
.
If the configuration data is correct, and the GNE is functioning normally, the GNE box in
the Nav Pane should reflect a Connected status, as shown in
