Quick Start
D
ESCRIPTION
This Quick Start provides instructions for the installation of the
GPON TA352/TA374 Optical Network Termination (ONT) units (P/N:
1287802F1C, 1287803F1C). The GPON TA352 4th Gen ONT has two
POTS ports and two Gigabit Ethernet ports; the GPON TA374 2nd Gen
ONT has four POTS ports and four Gigabit Ethernet ports.
The ONTs are enclosed in a weather-hardened Network Interface Device
(NID) which mounts to the exterior of a building. The figure below
illustrates the TA374 ONT in the context of the NID with the access door of
the NID removed.

The ONT is a Class 1 Laser Product.
I
NSTALLATION
This section explains NID installation and all cable routing.
After unpacking the ONT, inspect it for damage. If damage is noted, file a
claim with the carrier and then contact ADTRAN. For more information,
refer to the warranty.

Required Tools and Supplies
In addition to standard technician tools, the following tools are required for
this installation:
■
Carpenter’s level
■
3/32 inch screw driver for connecting ONT power
■
5/32 inch hex tamper proof bit
■
Two #10 screws (Max. Head Diameter 0.385”) and appropriate wall
anchors for mounting the NID
■
RJ-11 and RJ-45 crimpers
■
A telephony/data communication test set
■
Assorted tie wraps for securing cabling and wiring
■
Up to 4 RJ-45 and RJ-11 plugs
For fiber optic connections, you must have the following tools:
