CPU Configuration
You can use this screen to select options for the CPU Configura-
tion Settings. Use the up and down < Arrow > keys to select an
item. Use the < + > and < - > keys to change the value of the
selected option. A description of the selected item appears on the
right side of the screen. The settings are described on the follow-
ing pages. An example of the CPU Configuration screen is shown
below.
Max CPUID Value Limit
When the computer is booted up, the operating system exe-
cutes the CPUID instruction to identify the processor and its
capabilities. Before it can do so, it must first query the proces-
sor to find out the highest input value CPUID recognized. This
determines the kind of basic information CPUID can provide
the operating system. This option allows you to circumvent
problems with older operating systems.
When Enabled, the processor will limit the maximum CPUID
input value to 03h when queried, even if the processor sup-
