3. Close the battery compartment. To do this, put
the battery compartment cover on the battery
compartment and slide shut the battery compart-
ment cover in the arrow direction until it clicks
into place (see
Fig. 4
).

Switching on

Before turning on the scale, make sure there are no items on the weigh-
ing platform. If the weighing platform is loaded when you turn on the
scale, the not ready error will be displayed. Remove the item to be
weighed from the scale, turn off the scale and repeat the switch-on
process.
