Signal Conditioning
The input signal is filtered for noise removal and smoothing before pulses analysis.
There are 2 symmetric finite impulse response (FIR) filters (3rd degree Savitzky-Golay filters):
On the input signal
On the filtered input signal’s derivative
The FIR order is programmable (the maximum order is fixed by the firmware).
Pulse Detection
A pulse is detected when the signal samples go through the following states:
1. Rising edge
The sample values exceed a configurable data threshold
and the sample values’ derivative exceeds a configurable derivative rise threshold.
2. Falling edge
The sample values’ derivative goes below a configurable derivative fall threshold minus
a configurable derivative threshold hysteresis.
3. End
The sample values’ derivative exceeds the configurable derivative fall threshold plus the
configurable derivative threshold hysteresis.
