Automatic Disconnection: Supply Capacity for Received Energy
The SGM3000 Series meters support disconnection of service if the network receives more than
a predefined amount of energy over a predefined period of time from the premise. This
functionality is essentially the same as the delivered energy variant, however the defining
parameters are configured independently. The configuration settings will be independently
defined from the equivalent delivered energy functionality to provide customers with flexibility
in support of micro-generation installations.
When the functionality is enabled, the service will be disconnected for a defined period of time
if the average energy generated over a defined period of time exceeds the defined threshold.
At the end of the time period, the meter calculates the received energy for the period and
compares it with configured threshold. If the received energy is greater than the threshold, the
meter will disconnect the supply at the end of the time period.
Automatic Disconnection: Emergency Supply Capacity
Automatic disconnection of service based on emergency supply capacity function is similar to
supply capacity limiting feature and intended for load management when the electricity
network is under crisis. When the network is placed in an emergency mode, the emergency
supply capacity limiting thresholds will become active.
The SGM3000 Series meters support remote setting of a state of emergency for load
management purposes via the AMI interface. When an emergency state is activated, the
emergency automatic disconnection functionality will be active if the functionality has been
enabled. To activate the emergency supply capacity functionality, the emergency state flag
must be configured. When the meter is not in the emergency state, the emergency automatic
disconnection functionality settings will be ignored.
The SGM3000 Series meters support automatic disconnection of supply if the delivered energy
from the network to the customer exceeds a predefined average threshold over a predefined
period of time. For the emergency supply capacity functionality to be activated, both the
emergency state flag and the emergency supply capacity flag must be enabled. When the
functionality is enabled, the service will be disconnected for a defined period of time if the
average consumption over a defined period of time exceeds the defined threshold.
Automatic Disconnection: Insufficient Prepaid Funds
The SGM3000 Series meters will support automatic disconnection of supply if a meter running
in a prepayment scenario has consumed all prepaid funds. If the meter has been configured
with an overdraft, the overdraft will be added to the available funds to extend the time before
supply disconnection. The available funds and overdraft limits will be sent to the meter via a
local or remote connection. The meter will disconnect the main supply when the available
funds inclusive of any overdraft, measured as a unit of currency not energy, is exhausted.
The meter will adjust the funds available on each minute boundary based on the consumed
active energy delivered from the network to the premise. The active energy (watt hours)
