TravelMate 310 Service Guide
The computer employs hot keys or key combinations to access most of the
computer’s controls like screen contrast and brightness, volume output and
the BIOS setup utility.

Notebook
Manager
Access the notebook
configuration utility.
Fn-F3
Standby
Puts the computer in
Standby mode. Press any
key to return.

Hibernation
Puts the computer in
Hibernation mode (Save to
Disk). Press the power
switch to resume.
Fn-F5
Display
toggle
Switches display output
between the display screen,
external monitor (if
connected) and both the
display screen and external
monitor.
Fn-F6
Speaker on/
off
Turns the speaker on and
off; mutes the sound.
Fn-F7
Speaker
volume down
Decreases the speaker’s
volume level.
Fn-F8
Speaker
volume up
Increases the speaker’s
volume level.
Fn-F

Brightness
down
Decreases the screen
brightness.
Fn-F10
Brightness
up
Increases the screen
brightness.

Contrast
down
Decreases the screen
contrast (available only for
models with STN displays).
