There are two types of passwords you can set:
Setup Password
prevents unauthorized
access to the Setup Utility. Once set, you
must key-in this password the next time you
want to enter the Setup Utility. Section 5.3
discusses this utility in detail.
Power On Password
secures your computer
against unauthorized use. Once set, you
have to type it whenever you boot the
computer.

Important:
Do not forget your password!
If you
forget your password, you need to contact your
dealer.
Setting a Password
Follow these steps:
1.
During POST (while the startup logo is being
displayed), press
F2
to enter the Setup Utility.

Press the
↑
or
↓
key to select System Security,
then press
Enter
.
3.
Highlight a password parameter and. press the
→
or
←
key. The password prompt appears:

Type a password. The password may consist of
up to seven characters (A-Z, a-z, 0-9).
