3.5  Fans (Replacement/Installation) 

Type and number of fastenings: One (1) fan header per fan.  

Tools required: None.  

Procedure: 

Rear Exhaust Fan: Insert the four rubber pins into the four mounting holes surrounding the fan 

grill on the rear of the chassis. Pull the rubber pins through the mounting holes of the fan to 

secure the fan to the chassis. Connect the fan cable to the server board.  

Front Cooling Fan: Insert the four rubber pins through the front fan bracket and into the 

mounting holes in the front fan. Pull the rubber pins through the mounting holes of the system 

fan to secure the fan to the chassis. Lower the fan into the chassis, aligning the holes at the top of 

the front fan bracket with the holes in the chassis. Secure the fan to the chassis using the two 

screws provided. Connect the fan cable to the server board.
