Maintenance  Cycle  Mode

  -  Pressing

Function Key

once will result in a charge

cycle called a ‘Maintenance Cycle’. This
cycle  is  also  referred  to  as  a  ‘Pulse’
cycle. During this cycle, small impulses of
electrical energy are sent to the battery.
This helps to de-sulfate the battery plates
and ‘maintain’ a full charge.

This charger will wake up to maintenance

mode  automatically  when  battery
discharges  to  low  level  due  to  cold
weather or long time idleness.

With this mode activated (i.e. keep battery

charger plugged and a charging rate has
been selected, DC clamps connected to
car  battery),  cranking  the  engine  made
easy in extreme cold weather or coming
back from long outings.

NOTE:

  2A rating and ‘Maintenance’ mode

can  be  used  to  charge  less  than  12Ah
batteries,  but  takes  longer  time.  Or  to
speed up charging, try 6A first and then
2A.

Reinforced Activation Mode

 - Pressing

the

Function  Key

  twice  will  trigger  the

Reinforced Activation Mode. The charger
system will send a pulse charge cycle to
the battery and the Reinforced Activation
Mode  will  be  enabled  automatically  for
one hour.

USE  OF  REINFORCED  ACTIVATION
MODE:

Your  battery  charger  contains  a  Reinforced
Activation  Mode.  In  certain  cases,  batteries
can become depleted as a result of deposits
that build up on the battery plates. In some
cases,  this  will  cause  your  battery  to  resist
normal charging processes. When the normal
charging  mode  fails  or  the  Maintenance
Mode  does  not  reactivate  the  battery,  the
Reinforced Activation Mode may help remove
the  deposits  on  the  battery  plates  and
thereby permit battery charging. THIS MODE
SHOULD BE USED ONLY WHEN NORMAL
BATTERY  CHARGING  PROCESSES  and
THE  MAINTENANCE  MODE  FAILS  as  use
of this mode on a battery that would accept
a  normal  charge  may  harm  your  battery.
In  addition,  this  mode  will  not  work  on  all
depleted batteries.
