6 Putting into operation
6.5 Connecting the control lead
The machine-side control lead is open. The customer must connect a suitable plug. If all data is
provided, the system will be supplied ready for connection. Otherwise, choose a compatible
plug for your power source and solder it to the corresponding leads according to the terminal
diagram.
6.6 Setting the shielding gas volume

Connect the shielding gas cylinder to the wire feeder.

Set the gas quantity on the shielding gas cylinder’s pressure reducer.
6.7 Introducing the wire

Insert the wire into the wire feeder as specified by the manufacturer.

Press the "Zero current wire feed" trigger on the wire feeder.

NOTICE
• The type and amount of shielding gas used depend on the welding task and the gas
nozzle geometry.
• To prevent the shielding gas supply from becoming clogged by impurities, the cylinder
valve must be opened briefly before connecting the cylinder. This will expel any impurities
that may be present.
• Make all shielding gas connections gas-tight.
NOTICE
• Each time the wire is changed, make sure that the beginning of the wire is free of burrs.
