7.1 Welding process
Starting the welding process
1
Ensure that the device is protected against falling.
2
Ensure that the welding torch neck is securely attached.
3
To start up the magnet, set the magnet lever to “ON”.
4
Select the desired job from the main menu.
5
Set the weld start signal switch to “I”.
6
Set the travel direction switch to the desired direction.
If the arc ignition switch is in position “I”, then the welding torch will start to weld immediately after the travel
direction switch is actuated.
7
If required, readjust the speed on the speed controller.
8
If required, readjust the parameters.
Stopping the welding process
The welding process will be finished when the entire welding path is covered. The message “Job’s done” is
shown on the display.
1
Set the travel direction switch to “O”.
2
Set the weld start signal switch to “O”.
3
Switch on/off the device.
WARNING
Risk of injury due to the device falling
At the end of workpieces, during operation on inclined or vertical surfaces, or in the event of high
external temperatures, the device may fall and cause serious injuries.
► Never leave the device to operate unattended.
► Secure the device with an anti-fall guard (e.g. fall arrester) to prevent it from falling. Use the securing
lugs for the anti-fall guard and observe the total weight inclusive of the attached parts (accessories,
torch, cable assembly).
► By actuating the travel direction switch, stop the device in the boundary area in good time before
the end of the workpiece.
► Only use the device on inclined or vertical surfaces together with the optionally available guide rail
system supplied for this purpose.
► High external temperatures may affect the stability of the magnet. Observe the maximum ambient
temperature for operation.
NOTICE
Material damage due to weather conditions
Weather conditions can cause irreparable damage to the device.
► Do not use the device in frost or rain.
WARNING
Risk of burns from hot surface
Welding torches become very hot during welding. This may result in serious burns.
► Allow welding torches to cool down after welding.
► Wear the correct protective gloves.
