The function can be tested by connecting a binary input to the counter under test and
from outside apply pulses to the counter. The speed of pulses must not exceed 10 per
second. Normally the counter will be tested in connection with tests on the function that
the counter is connected to, such as trip logic. When configured, test it together with the
function which operates it. Trig the function and check that the counter has followed the
number of operations.
