General information

Con gra tu la tions!  With  the  ac qui si ti on  of  this  stair clim bing sys tem you have

a  de vi ce  that  will  quic kly  be co me  a  re li ab le  and  in dis pen sa ble  part ner  in

trans por ting  phy si cal ly  dis ab led  peo ple.
With the s-max you are able to trans port one per son sa fe ly and ef fort less ly

up- and downs tairs; even win ding stairs are no pro blem for the s-max. Dri -

ving on slo pes is also pos si ble. The sa fe ty bra kes on both si des of the s-max

en su re  your  sa fe ty.
Na tu ral ly  the  s-max  is also suit ab le to dri ve on le vel ground. The de vi ce is

light weight,  fle xi ble  and  does not take up much spa ce.
The s-max is ca pa ble of clim bing stairs up to a step height of 22 cm. The mi -

ni mum depth of the step’s sur fa ce must be 12 cm re gard less of the type of

stairs (re gu lar straight stairs or win ding stairs).
The ne ces sa ry step width con cer ning straight stairs is the width of the s-max 

plus an ex tra 10 cm for ma no euv ring.
The mi ni mum plat form size for u-sha ped stairs de pends on fac tors such as

the wheelchair’s di men sions, etc. Your AAT re pre sen ta ti ve or your aut ho ri -

zed dea ler are hap py to ad vi se you.
The sti cker with the device’s se ri al num ber is lo ca ted in si de the batteries’

dra wer. Re mo ve the bat te ry pack and read the num ber.

Care and maintenance

One of the most im por tant aspects con cer ning the main ten an ce of the s-max

is char ging the sea led lead acid  bat te ries.  They  are part of the bat te ry pack

and must be char ged every time af ter using the de vi ce.
Ot her  than  that  your s-max does not need much care or  main ten an ce.  More

ex ten si ve  in struc tions  you find in chap ter 8.
