Using the Phone to Control Outside Systems
Redkey
You want to use your phone to switch on a heating system, operate a sun blind, call for help, trigger an
alarm or actuate another function on an outside system
[e]
.
Triggering a Function with the Redkey
Your system administrator can set up one or more Redkeys on your phone. Pressing a Redkey then
triggers the configured function on the connected outside system.
A Redkey can be set up by the system administrator on any configurable key of your phone. Redkeys can
only be set up via the system configuration. It is not possible to modify a Redkey configuration via your
phone.
If a Redkey is to be triggered quickly and spontaneously in any situation, it is best to configure it on the
Hotkey.
Ask your system administrator whether Redkeys have been set up on your phone, where and what for.
You’re making a call or dialling a number or being called or the phone is in the idle state:
Status display
The outside system can acknowledge that a function has been actuated by a Redkey by sending a
message to the phone’s display (with or without a prompt to acknowledge the message).
Press the Redkey to trigger the function.
Note
The function is always actuated regardless of whether you press the Redkey
once, twice or hold it down for a moment.
Note
If a Redkey is set up on the Hotkey, the function is also actuated if you hold
down the Redkey for a moment when the keypad is locked.
