The Dante expansion card should come pre-installed with
the DMP1616D (and is not included with the DMP1616).
This is an optional component that is not included on all
versions of the DMP1616.
The “Primary” port on the Dante card can be connected to
your network router. The Secondary port can be connected
to the Primary port of additional units. Alternatively, all
units can be connected to the router using their “Primary”
ports.
The Audinate Dante Controller can be downloaded
through their website (www.audinate.com). This is used to
route the network signals from numerous Dante-enabled
devices. Each device will show up as its own independent
signal with input and output channels listed. All units will
be automatically discovered by the software.
Signals can be routed internally using the instructions
found in section 5. The actual network input signals
received by your DMP1616s are determined by the
aforementioned Dante Controller software. It should be
noted that each Network input mix can only have a single
source assigned to it.
Connecting additional units to your network will
automatically be recognized by the software, allowing any
of these systems to have their signals routed throughout
the network.
In addition to the regular network routing of signals, the
Dante expansion cards are compatible with Audinate’s
DANTE CONNECTIVITY
(DMP1616D ONLY)
Virtual Soundcard software which allows for recording
of audio to the computer and playback of audio from the
computer. At the time of publication, this a permanent
license for this software is available for $29.99 through
Audinate’s website.
The controller software is completely free on Windows
7 (SP1), Windows 8.1, Windows 10, OSX 10.10.5
(Yosemite), OSX 10.11.6 (El Capitan), macOS 10.12
(Sierra) and macOS 10.13 (High Sierra).
