IMPORTANT

During the mulching process, constantly check the debris

is feeding into the large bucket. Do Not allow the bucket to

exceed 75% capacity with mulch as debris can be restricted

from entering the bucket past this point.
If the bucket becomes full the mulch will back feed into

the machine and cause overloading. Refer to the section

Clearing a jammed cutter

.”

Composting

The processed material can be composted in various ways:

•

The material can be placed in a heap directly on the

ground (cold composting).

•

The material can be placed in a plastic container,

wooden crate, skeleton container or similar (cold

composting).

•

The material can be placed in an insulated compost

holder. The heat is then held for longer and the rotting

process also continues during the winter. This method

produces faster results (warm composting).

•

The material can be spread directly onto the garden

(surface composting).

Clearing a jammed cutter

In the event the cutter is jammed with a branch or similar

material, or where the outlet has been blocked with leaves

or chips (usually when the bin has not been emptied) the

following steps should be taken to clear the blockage.

1. Disconnect the shredder from the mains 240V electricity

supply.

2. It is STRONGLY

recommended to wear

protective gloves before

proceeding. The cutters

inside this machine are very

sharp and contact with the

cutters can cause injury

3. Fully loosen the top cover

locking knob.

4. Roll back the top cover

exposing the cutter disc.

5. Remove any jammed

branches jamming the

cutter.

6. Check the exit chute. This

must be clear of leaves

or shredded matter so the

shredded matter can drop

into the bin.

7. After clearing debris hinge close the top cover and locate

and tighten the top cover locking knob.

8. Re connect the shredder to the mains supply and start

the shredder.

Cleaning and changing the blades

Always clean the shredder after each use.

WARNING.

Never use a high-pressure washer or running

water when cleaning the shredder!
Brush away dirt and plant residue which may be caught

in the cutter. Wipe clean the outside of the shredder with

a cloth which has been moistened with a mild detergent

and water.
On occasion the build up of chippings need to be cleaned.
Turn off the shredder and Disconnect the shredder from the

mains 240V electricity supply.
Follow the steps details in the section, “clearing a jammed

cutter” to open the top cover of the shredder.
Using a brush, clean out and debris, or remove any

branches in the cutter or chute area.
Inspect the cutters and ensure the blades are in good

condition and the blade bolts are tight.
If storing the shredder after use, a fine spray of oil on the

cutters and the cutter disc is advisable.
Should the blades need replacement or turning follow the

steps below and use the Hex Key supplied to remove the

blades.
