Firmware Download
Generally the default protocol is sufficient for your application however occasionally updates and / or a different
protocol (e.g. SITA CUTE or ARINC MUSE) may be required. 3M will provide a zip file which includes the
download tools, instructions and firmware hex file.
The zip file needs to be installed on a PC or laptop computer with a native serial port or USB virtual COM port.
This applies to the following 3M
TM
RTE6701-OEM PCBs:
•
VC27 – serial RS232 output, but maybe connected to your PC via a US-serial adaptor. If
this is the case treat as a VC27U.
•
VC27U – USB interface on board, it presents a serial port profile to the PC.

10.1
Installing the programs on your PC
1)
Create a new directory on your PC e.g.
C:\rt.
2)
Unzip the contents of the file using the password rte (if it doesn’t work try 3M or ask your
technical support contact).

Check you have hostess version 7 or above.
