PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
Figure 1 illustrates the 3M™ DBI-SALA™ Tripod. The Tripod is a single-point anchorage connector for a personal fall arrest
system designed to be erected over the opening and meant to lower and raise the user into and out of the opening. Constructed
of lightweight tubular aluminum, the tripod can be combined with a variety of pulleys, winches and fall-arrest devices to meet
a wide range of confined space entry, retrieval, and rescue requirements. Quick-release pins positively locate components at all
adjustment points for tool-less setup and adjustment. The tripod can be used as a support structure for various types of safety
devices. Some of these can mount directly to the anchor point at the top of the tripod head, while others may require an adapter
bracket.
Figure 2 illustrates components of the Tripod. See Table 1 for Component Specifications. The Tripod is comprised of three Tubular
Legs (E) with a Head Assembly (B) at the apex of the Tubular Legs. The Head Pulley (A) at the top of the Head Assembly works
with the Winch Mounting Bracket (F) to secure a winch with the tripod. The Foot Assembly (D) grounds the Tripod and the Chain
Assembly (C) prevents the Tubular Legs from moving when in use. The Leg Adjustment Pins (H) allow for height adjustment
of the tripod and the Eye Anchor Bolt (G) strengthens winch connections. The RFID Tag (I) enables quick identification of the
tripod.

Fall Arrest:
The structure to which the Anchorage Connector is attached must sustain static loads applied in the
directions permitted by the Fall Arrest System of at least 2700 lbs (12 kN). When more than one
Personal Fall Arrest System (PFAS) is attached to a structure, these loads must be multiplied by the
number of PFAS attached to the structure.
Maximum Allowed Arresting Force (MAF) rating for retractable devices or shock absorbers is 6 kN.
