ESSAGES
At power-on or reset, the server performs self-tests and diagnostics on the
motherboard, auxiliary processor board, and 16-port asynchronous
modules. It sends status and error messages generated by these tests to an
attached console, if possible. This appendix lists these messages by type:

Normal messages
■
Motherboard error messages
■
Auxiliary processor board error messages
■
16-port asynchronous module error message
Within each type, the messages are listed in alphabetical order.
The server may not always be able to report a failure on the console (for
example, CPU failure).
If you receive an error message, refer to Chapter 6, “Troubleshooting.” If you
still receive an error message, contact 3Com or your network supplier. Refer
to Appendix D, “Technical Support,” for technical support information.
Normal Messages
The following messages indicate normal startup.
128K ram installed
Meaning:
Indicates the size of memory on the auxiliary processor board.
3Com Corporation CS/3000 Series Monitor
Meaning:
The server is in monitor mode. For information on monitor
mode, refer to Appendix C, “Monitor Utility.”
Auxiliary Processor Board diagnostics - Passed
Meaning:
The auxiliary processor board has passed its self-tests.
