Administration Console Management
The Administration Console is a menu-driven, VT100 command line
interface. To access the module’s Administration Console, you must first
log in to the primary EME. Follow these steps:
1
Log in to the EME via Telnet or a local connection.
For information about logging in to the EME, see the
CoreBuilder 9000
Enterprise Management Engine User Guide
.
2
At the EME prompt, enter:
connect <slot>.1
Where
<slot>
is the slot number of the module that you want to
manage, and the number after the period is a subslot number (which is
always 1).
This command brings you to the top-level menu and a prompt. The
prompt shows the slot to which you are connected as well as an
abbreviated description of the module. For example, if you install your
4-port Gigabit Ethernet Layer 3 Switching Module (GBIC) in slot 4, then
the prompt is:
[email protected] [4-GEN-GBIC-L3] ():
3
Enter commands to manage the module.
For example, to display a summary configuration of bridge ports, enter:
bridge port summary
