•The Zurn HW 6 Power Converter shal l be i nstal l ed i n accordance wi th Nati onal /Local el ectri cal codes.
• The HW 6 i s shi pped i ntergrated wi thi n a 4 11/16" X 4 11/16" X 2 1/8" el ectri cal box.
• It i s advi sabl e to i nstal l the HW 6 power suppl y i n an accessi bl e l ocati on, as cl ose as possi bl e to the fl ush val ves i t wi l l
power . Ideal l ocati on i s behi nd an access panel , i n a pi pe chase, or above a drop cei l i ng. The greatest di st ance to any val ve
shal l i deal l y be l ess than 20 ft., (40 ft. max.).
• The Zurn-HW 6 Power Converter shal l be di rect wi red wi th conti nuous 120VAC, 60Hz from the bui l di ng suppl y.
• The HW 6 can be used to power up to 8 ZEMS-IS fl ush val ves.
• Encl osed wi th each val ve i s 1 (one) connecti ng wi re to power ZEMS-IS actuator.
• The wi re shal l be wi re nut connected to the l ow vol tage red (+) and bl ue (-) l eads from the power suppl y as shown i n
(Fi gure 1).
• The connecti ng wi re i s pol ari zed. The bl ack l ead wi th whi te trace i s (+) and connect s to the red wi re from the power suppl y.
The pl ai n bl ack l ead i s (-) and connect s to the bl ue l ead on the power suppl y. Do not cross wi res as i t wi l l cause dam age
to the product!
• Connecti ng wi re shal l be run from the power suppl y to the predri l l ed 1-1/2" di ameter hol es i n the fi ni shed wal l for fi nal
connecti on to the fl ush val ves. (Fi gure 2)
IM PORTANT
1. Must use a Zurn power suppl y to ensure proper vol tage for the system. Correct pol ari ty i s necessary to prevent damage to
t he sensors. Check DC power l evel t o ensure t he power suppl y i s provi di ng a mi ni mum of 7. 4 vol t s DC. DC l evel s l ess t han
7.4 vol ts wi l l resul t i n mal functi on of the uni ts.
2. Be certai n to use the l engths of wi re provi ded wi th each power suppl y when wi ri ng the bathroom for the fl ush val ves. The
connector and wi re gauge have been sel ected speci fi cal l y to match the Zurn Fl ushometer val ve.
3. Each Fl ush Val ve shoul d be wi red i n paral l el as shown i n the wi ri ng di agram bel ow.
4. Ensure the access hol e behi nd the fl ush val ve i s a mi ni mum of 1-1/2” i n di ameter and l ocated per Zurn templ ates #FV329
and #FV330. The pl ug end of the l ow vol tage wi re needs to be accessi bl e at thi s hol e when the pl umber i nstal l s the
f l ushomet er val ve.
