Receiving E-mails

Go to 

Basic Mail > Settings > Auto Receive

 to choose how often 

you want your phone to check for E-mails.
Select your E-mail account and open 

Inbox

 to receive E-mails or 

synchronize the mailbox.
When you edit your accounts you can also choose whether the phone 
downloads whole emails or just the email headers.
