Intel Core2Duo CPU may be bundled with Low
Profile Cooling Fan which carries plastic hooks
at the edges of the Cooling Fan.The plastic
hooks help to arrange the connection wires in
a tidy way

If the CPU Cooling Fan is installed in a orien-
tation in which one of the plastic hooks come
into direct contact with the motherboard’s Chip-
set Heatsink, then the plastic hook may press
against the Chipset Heatsink. This could result
in the Chipset Heatsink to be raised at one side,
forming a small angle to the original horizontal
position. Most of the thermal contact area will
be lost, and the Chipset temperature will rise to
unexpected high figures.System would fail due
to overheating at the Chipset.
A practical workaround is to re-arrange the
orientation of the CPU Cooling Fan,rotate the
CPU Cooling Fan by 90 degree,such that the
plastic hooks do not come into direct contact
with the Chipset Heatsink.
