Special safety instructions
Do not use for cutting posts or logs.
Never stop the saw blade by pressing
against the saw, or by applying pressure to
the side of the saw blade itself.
Never use saw blades made of high speed
steel.
Never use grinding or cutting discs.
Always use the correct type of saw blade for
the job in hand.
Never use saw blades whose maximum
speed is less than the tool’s maximum RPM.
Never use bent saw blades, or saw blades
which have teeth missing.
Never use saw blades which are too big.
Never use a saw blade thicker than the
cleaver blade.
Always wear protective gloves when
handling the blade. Never place your hand
in the vicinity of the saw blade and never
attempt to remove materials from the work
area whilst the saw blade is spinning.
Use a push stick or block to push the item
towards the blade if the distance between
blade and guide is less than 12 cm.
Never lock the blade guard in its open
position except when changing blades as
described below.
Check that the guard can be moved freely
and that the closure mechanism works
correctly before use. Do not use the saw if
this is not the case.
Never use the guards to carry or lift the saw.
Always keep the spindle and flanges used
for mounting the saw blades clean.
Never allow the blade to be in contact with
the item to be cut or other objects when
starting up the saw.
Check that there are no nails, screws or
other objects that could damage the blade
in the item to be cut, and that there are no
similar obstructions in the surface beneath
the item.
Secure round objects to be sawn using
clamps or similar, as the rotation of the
blade may cause them to spin.
