Self Tests
The ZOLL AED 3 defibrillator performs the following self tests to verify
unit integrity and its readiness for emergency use. See the
ZOLL AED 3
Administrator’s Guide for more detailed information about these tests.

pack is installed or

(2 Joule Test)
• Microprocessor
Hardware/Software
• CPR Circuitry and Sensor
(if defibrillation pads with
CPR functionality are
connected)
• Audio Circuitry
Additional function:
• 200 Joule Charge Test
Power On Automatically, whenever
the AED is turned on. Basic functions:
Same as Battery Installation
Self Test basic functions.
Manual By pressing and holding the
AED’s On/Off button for at
least 5 seconds. Basic functions:
Same as Battery Installation
Self Test basic functions.
Additional function:
• 200 Joule Charge Test
