BASIC OPERATIONS

Power On / Off
•
To turn the radio on, turn the on-off / Volume control knob clockwise.
•
To turn the radio off, turn the on-off / Volume control knob counterclockwise
until you hear a click.

Adjusting the Radio Volume
•
Turn the on-off / Volume control knob to adjust the volume level.
¢
Channel Selection
•
Select the desired channel by using Up / Down key.
•
Each press increases or decreases the channel number.
•
The channels increase constantly in case press and hold Up key or the channel decrease
constantly when you press and hold Down key.

Transmission
Before transmitting, monitor the channel and make sure it is clear.
•
To transmit, press and hold the PTT switch. Speak into the microphone in a normal voice.
•
To return to the receive mode, release the PTT switch.

Reception Selection
•
Select the wanted radio channel.
•
The lamp will give a green light during the reception of signals.
•
If the lamp is blinking green, it indicates that the sender is using another pilot tone CTCSS
code, than set in your receiver.Try to change the pilot tone by using the CTCSS menu.

CTCSS
CTCSS (CTCSS = Continuous Tone Code Squelch System) is a low frequency sub audio tone
working as a filter. If you and your other hunting radio users are using the same radio channel and
the same CTCSS one, you will avoid hearing other users on this channel (not using the same CTCSS
tone as you). There are 52 different CTCSS tones covering the frequency range 67 - 254 Hz.
To change the CTCSS setting:
•
Press and hold [TONE] for approx. 3 seconds
to enter CTCSS setting mode.
•
‘TONE’ will be blinking in 200ms interval on the LCD.
•
Select the CTCSS tone with [▲] or [▼].
•
Press and hold [TONE] or [PTT]
for approx. 3 seconds to confirm.
