2. Rotate the detector clockwise until it clicks into position.
The detector may be locked into the mounting base if
required. To do this, remove the locking tab (Figure 1)
before installation.
3. Prior to initial testing remove the yellow plastic dust cover
from the detector. (For all tests notify the proper
authorities that the fire alarm system is undergoing
maintenance and will be temporarily out of service).
4. To allow easy zone identification, an indent is provided on
the detector exterior for application of a zone number
label.
For head out continuity, a diode base must be used and zone
wiring must be terminated with a suitable end of line (EOL)
component. The choice of EOL is dependant on the control
panel used (refer to control panel documentation). For control
panels with a head out facility, an active end of line unit must
be used.
To remove a locked detector:
1. Insert a small screwdriver into the locking tab slot as
shown in Figure 2.
2. Press the screwdriver to disengage the lock, and then
rotate the detector anticlockwise to remove it.
Maintenance
Maintenance should be planned in accordance with the
requirements of the authority having jurisdiction.
