3 Re-tighten the locking ring nut with a wrench without removing the Allen key.
Allow the mixed outlet temperature to stabilize for 60 seconds and once again take a temperature
reading. Repeat the procedure until the desired temperature has been reached.
Check that the outlet temperature is stable over a full range of flow rates and that the flow rate is
adequate for the application.
Records must be maintained of all checks and adjustments made.
Maintenance
Performance tests should be carried out regularly to monitor the performance of the TMV.
Any deterioration of performance could indicate that maintenance may be required to the TMV or
system.
If there is a significant change from the previous test result in the mixed outlet temperature of the
water from the TMV then maintenance should be conducted according to
Troubleshooting below
.
Setting the Temperature/Commissioning
To adjust the valve over 120°F (49°C) the security clip (depicted below) would need to be removed
and would no longer be approved for ASSE1070 application.
The security clip can be removed by hand.
By removing the security clip it will break and can not be reused.
Adjust the temperature using the adjusting screw on the valve.
