8. As soon as a connection to the device is established, a two-stage authentication
process is initiated.
First stage
–
The
fi
rst stage of authentication is binding. The app checks whether the MAC
address of the AM-STICK-WB has already been assigned a serial number.
If not, a dialog box automatically opens, in which the link to the serial number can
be created. This link is saved in the app
’
s document directory in a
fi
le called
binding.txt, and can be transferred to another trusted smartphone if required.
If a binding already exists, PIN input takes place (see second stage).
The serial number can either be input by reading it and entering it in a text box or
by touching the barcode symbol to scan it. In Android an external barcode scanner
(ABZing) is used in this case. If this is not installed, you are prompted to install it. In
iOS, a scanner window appears instead of the example for a rating plate. OK
enters the binding in the
fi
le and the connection is started.
